The circulatory and vascular systems are other names for the cardiovascular system. The pulmonary and systemic circuits make up the two halves of the cardiovascular system. The heart, lungs, pulmonary veins, and pulmonary arteries make up the pulmonary circuit. This system circulates the heart's deoxygenated blood to the lungs, where it is given oxygen before returning to the heart (Crystal & Pagel, 2020). The heart plus all of the body's other arteries, arterioles, capillaries, venules, and veins make up the systemic circuit. All of the body's tissues, muscles, and organs are supplied with the nutrients and gases they require to operate via this circuit, which pumps oxygenated blood from the heart to each of them.
